Your business name includes "Removal." Do you actually remove the stump?
We remove the stump from the eyes view. Most people just want the stump out of eyes view in order to plant grass or free up some space to plant flowers. To fully remove a stump is another level of costs which the typical homeowner does not need to incur. We grind the stumps with a machine which leaves either chips or mulch like debris. If it is a very small tree stump, let us say 6", the grinder will do a pretty good job of pulling up the root system. Large trees could be embedded up to 6' deep or more, which grinding does not accomplish full removal. Full removal employs larger, more expensive processes and we can provide estimates for that also.
How much does stump grinding cost in Maryland?
Costs vary by stump size, location, and quantity. Most jobs range from $75–$300 per stump. There can be multi-stump discounts.
How soon can you remove a stump?
We usually schedule stump grinding within 24-48 hours, but we do make exceptions. Just call to ask. We serve what we refer to as the Annapolis metropolitan area since we are located in Lothian which is just south of Annapolis. Distance from our location to yours can also be a consideration in scheduling the stump removal.
Do you haul away the wood chips?
By default, chips are left to decompose and used as mulch. Removal can be arranged if requested at an additional cost. If it is a minimal amount, I can probably take it away at no additional cost. I do encourage using it as mulch or placing it in an area of your yard where it can decompose for future use. If you have a landscaper that does your yardwork, they may be able to use it to add to your yard needs.
What areas do you serve?
Annapolis, Lothian, Anne Arundel County, Calvert County, and surrounding areas.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes, call (443) 837-5571
Can you get into my backyard?
The grinder can fit through a 36" wide gate. The grinder itself is about 9' long. It can fit in tight spaces.
How deep do you go?
Typically, 4-6" below the surface.
How close can you get to my house or fence line?
We can get very close to these areas as long as there are no waterpipes, electrical, rocks or concrete obstructing the area. We like to poke and prod areas of concern and if needed we call Miss Utility.
I am not sure of what is under the surface of my ground, how do you know where the electrical lines are?
Miss Utility is called to mark the ground. That call can be done by either the homeowner or us.
